Axolotls Strat was created in collaboration with Toronto-based artist Mathias Chau. With a background in visual arts at York University, his work blends contemporary illustration with East Asian influences.

I was drawn to the playful axolotls and their vivid colours, which brought back memories of the childhood cartoon Snorks. There is an innocence and wonder in this artwork that I wanted to preserve. To me, carrying a little of that childhood spirit into adult life helps us see the world with greater clarity and an open heart. That feeling made this design a natural choice for our collaboration.

A transparent acrylic pickguard, pickup covers, and control knobs keep the artwork visible throughout the guitar. A modern solderless wiring system, a carefully selected tremolo system, and upgraded components bring the same care to its function and playability.
